What should I bring to Rønningen?
In Norway we have four seasons, and the temperature can vary between -20 degrees in the winter to a warm summer 25 degrees.
For some of you, this is your first time experiencing snow, so please make sure you have warm clothes during the winter.
The norwegians also love to go for a walk in the woods and fields;
comfortable walking shoes is the key!
Rønningen has some equipments for lending, but it is very limited.

General packinglist
- Ordinary clothes
- Warm clothes: wool underwear, thermal tights, fleece jacket, warm gloves or mittens, wool socks, buffs, scarfs and beanies.
- Nice dress or clothes for special occacions (winterball, operavisit)
- Swimwear
- Stationery
- Drinking bottle

- Two sets of bed linen (the beds are 90 cm wide, the duvets are 200 cm long)
- Two sets of towels and possibly cloths

The whole school will travel together to three different places during the schoolyear.

For this trips, it is important that you bring the right clothes and equipments.
EXPLORE NORDMARKA
At the very beginning of the year, already on the third week, the whole school will go on a trip to Nordmarka for a couple of days. This is a beautiful trip in the Norwegian woods, where we have a lot of fun together in a camping-like atmosphere.
Please bring
- a good backpack and sleeping bag
- sleeping pads
- good walking shoes
- scarf, mittens, warm jacket, clothes made of wool.
SKI AND SLEIGH RIDE IN
SKARSLIA / HALLINGDAL
Just after New Year`s eve, we go straight to the snowy mountains. We will spend a couple of days in a simple cozy hotel and create our own magical winter atmosphere. It will be possible to rent ski, snowboard, and sledding equipment. After spending the days in the slopes, eating grilled sausages outside, and enjoying good music, will there be nothing like enjoying the warmth in front of the fireplace together.
Please bring:
Warm wool clothes and/or ski clothes
Good winter/snow boots
Warm gloves/mittens/scarf/buffs
STRANDHEIM CAMPSITE - OSLOFJORD
This year you will get to know Oslo city by heart, including the Oslo fjord area. You will experience the bustling boat life, the beautiful islands, and barcode; the area with the Deichman library, museums, and The Opera house. As a final trip for the whole school this year, we will take a boat from Aker Brygge to Volen and Slemmestad in Asker. From there we walk the coastal path out to the place we will live to enjoy our last days together. Here it will be possible to sleep outside in hammocks or in a lavvo, take a dip in the water, enjoy outside activities with the whole school, and end the days with a nice sunset.
