Norwegian course

In the Norwegian lessons, we strive to give every student challenges on their particular level in accordance to their goals for the year. We help the students benefit from each other’s knowledge and strive to make the classes fun, energetic and inspiring.

We use a variety of teaching methods including grammar lessons, reading, listening, discussions, oral group work and practical excercises both in the classroom and out. The teaching in Norwegian classes is closely connected to the students’ language needs in their everyday life in school.

We use the books «På vei», «Stein på stein», «Her på berget» and «Stup i det».

For students who have a high level of Nowegian when entering the school or who reach a high level during the year we offer an extra 50h course of Norwegian B1/B2. Entrance into this group is based on a placement test carried out in the precourse or later.

If you have a Norwegian dictionary in your mother tongue, please bring it. Though you do not need to buy a dictionary if you do not already have one. All books are offered by the school.

Students who wish to sit for a Norwegian language test to document their level at the end of the year, can sign up for the official Norwegian language test «Språkprøven» here: Meld deg på prøven - Kompetanse Norge.

The test ranges from A1 to B2.
B2 being the level required to enroll in a Norwegian university.
